History of St. Andrew's

bullet

The history of the congregation dates back to 1833, when Robert Thornton arrived here as a missionary from Scotland.  He organized a congregation of the Protestant  faith and by 1875 had seen to the building of a brick church. In 1967, a new church site was chosen and the present church was erected.

St. Andrew’s has a history of long ministries.  Since 1875, three ministers,  John Abraham, David Marshall and Jim McClure served between them ninety years.  The Rev. Dr. Jim Czegledi came to St. Andrew’s in 1995.
