. . . One on One Caring
|
What is "Stephen Ministry"? The mission of Stephen Ministries is to help
congregations equip God's people for spiritual growth and Christ-centered,
practical ministry in today's world.
The Stephen Series provides
structure, training, and resources to set up and administer a complete
system for lay caring ministry (called Stephen Ministry) in the
congregation.
In Stephen Ministry
congregations, lay caregivers (called Stephen Ministers) provide
one-to-one Christian care to the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill,
separated, divorced, unemployed, relocated, and others facing a crisis or
life challenge.
Stephen Ministry helps
pastors and congregations provide quality caring ministry for as long as
people need it. |

St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church is proud
to partner with Stephen Ministries.
On Sunday, October 16th 2005 we commissioned
our first "Leaders" in this important ministry. Each
of these teachers has undergone extensive training involving a deep
personal commitment of time and energy.
This multi-discipline course equips "Stephen Leaders" with the
tools to train others in the one-to-one care of other Christians.
As part of their
ongoing commitment Stephen Ministers will meet together in order to
support, encourage, and help one another to provide the best distinctively
Christian care possible for care receivers.
